Hi Casey. I am sad to say that my visit to Malawi has come to an end. I am now in the Netherlands being a tourist. I already miss Malawi, especially the people, the sunshine, and the heat. We woke up to snow the other day.

Hi how are you marjory and i like to ask is that how much food can you but for $1.and i am raj from room2

Marjory
HI Raj. I am doing great! Most people grow their own food in Malawi, so it is hard to say what it costs. To give you an idea of how much it cost me while I was in the city, my restaurant dinners were usually about 8 dollars including two fizzie drinks. Once I went to nando's for lunch and a roll up with fries cost me 5 dollars.

Most of the people I have met use water that comes from a borehole. This means it is pumped up from deep in the ground. The water looks clean and refreshing. I always bought bottled water, because as a foreigner, my body wasn't used to Malawian water and there was a chance I could get sick if I drank it.

How people in malawi has acess to water

Marjory
IN the areas where World Vision is working, one of the most important work is making sure people have access to clean water, so tyhey drill boreholes in many places. Sometimes if the pumps break, or the borehole is not deep enough, people have to get water from the river, which is not as safe. In the cities, water is provided by the city and you can buy bottled water almost everywhere.

Oh dear Girls! What a difficult question to answer. I would be here forever if I tried to0 tell you everything I have learned. My best advice is that you read all of my diaries, and take a look at the answers to the questions people have been asking me. There is also a transcript of tyhe audio conferences form earlier in March. Malawi is a very interesting country with wonderful people. Enjoy you adventure!

Ezralee
Hi miss
my quesion for you is. How offten do you go and check your
meassages and how offten do you write in your diary.

Marjory
Hi Ezralee. I write my diary every day. We go out visiting people all day and then before I can go to sleep, I have to write about everything I have done, and all I have learned. If I don't write every night, I am afraid I will forget. I can only check my messages when I am in Lilongwe because I need access to the Internet. Usually I spend two or three days a week in Lilongwe and work in the World Vision office.

how do they shapen there pencil
Posted: 4 Apr 05Reply from Marjory
Marjory
Hi Hone. I remember watching somebody sharpen a pencil a few days ago. They used a very sharp knife and carved the wood from around the edges. Last week I gave the headmaster a pencil sharpener from someone at Mansell, so maybe now, things will change.
